Thinkstream Announces Entry into Criminal Justice Market
Distributed Technology Provides Significant Advantages Over Previous Technologies
Tigard, OR, March 1, 2003 – Thinkstream, Inc. today announced its entry into the Criminal Justice market space. The company is currently deploying its patent-pending distributed information networking platform to local, state and federal criminal justice agencies to integrate agency workflow, perform distributed searches, analyze data and compile criminal profiles.
Among criminal justice agencies, there are countless information systems scattered across many organizations and physical geography. Each of these systems is different from the next and few, if any, are capable of integrating with others. These systems do not speak with each other because when they were built this was not a concern. However, now that these systems have massively proliferated, it is a vital concern.
It is vital because personnel, law enforcement officers for example, need a complete information picture or profile on their subjects. This complete picture is like a jigsaw puzzle and, unfortunately, the individual pieces are scattered throughout countless information systems, many of which are not securely accessible by the people who have a critical need for that information.
Thinkstream, Inc. is a software company that has created a distributed information network platform and accompanying solutions that give the complete information picture. Thinkstream technology enables web services-based distributed information networks. These networks give a flexible, secure, real-time view of all the data that is scattered throughout databases and other systems such as desktop PCs and web sites. No solution delivering this level of information connectivity has existed previously. Even though countless hardware and software platforms exist, Thinkstream can tie them together securely, even across organizational, agency and geographic boundaries.
This platform is an evolutionary step forward from previous generations of technologies that force agencies to drastically change or replace their existing systems, an expensive, risky and time consuming proposition. Thinkstream, on the other hand, extends rather replaces systems, an enormous benefit when multi-agencies projects are under consideration.
