Thinkstream - PTI collaborate on Homeland Security
Washington, DC, March 17, 2003 – Public Technology, Inc.(PTI) has announced a new partnership with Thinkstream to help provide the nations’ states, counties and cities with technology solutions that will support their homeland security efforts. The partnership supports PTI’s mission of bringing the benefits of technology to local governments and compliments the organization’s inventory of technology solutions for homeland security and emergency preparedness.
Thinkstream is a small innovative software development company, based in Tigard, OR that provides web services integration platforms for servers, desktops, mobile devices and mainframes. One of its applications takes advantage of the distributed nature of the Internet to query different criminal justice databases and conduct real-time information searches almost instantaneously. "For the first time, users can call up data from its actual site, in its existing format, at precisely the moment is it is needed, regardless of location or format," said BARRY L. BELLUE, SR. Thinkstream President and CEO.
Thinkstream's solution will be featured next month in Miami where local elected and appointed officials from across the country will be convening during the Congress of Public Technologists. Government officials will have an opportunity to learn more about the software application and appreciate how it can be a major resource in responding to the homeland security imperative and public safety in general.
"Having the ability to easily interrogate disparate databases in real-time has been a long standing challenge for government law enforcement organizations. We are excited by what Thinkstream brings to the table and the timing could not be better," said Costis Toregas, president of PTI. "We are very pleased to be partnering with Thinkstream to expand the inventory of resources available to local governments" said Toregas.
Headquartered in Tigard, OR, Thinkstream set out in 1997 to create Internet search architecture capable of accessing the vast information available on the Internet in many different formats, returning only relevant results in real time. The company has developed, tested and is launching patent-pending technology that will create a new standard for accessing, managing and delivering information across the Internet.
Thinkstream’s technology enables companies to take advantage of the distributed nature of the Internet and uses a distributed information and commerce engine to deploy e-commerce networks, conduct information searches, develop information portals or manage catalogs.
