Would you
like to see dramatic improvements in the flexibility, efficiency and speed of your dispatch operation? |
This department certainly has.
Despite a hefty investment in leased lines, dedicated workstations and "a bunch of other equipment to support the system," Rustin PD frequently found itself in a bind. If one of their two dispatchers was on vacation and the other called in sick, or his workstation went down, "we used to be dead in the water." Today, other personnel are stepping in, filling the gaps and maintaining an uninterrupted flow of information. And speaking of information, officers in the field are getting theirs twice as fast these days, because dispatchers are taking full advantage of a range of shortcuts, quick links and other user-friendly features to burn rubber when running criminal histories.
"We love it. Compared to what we used to use, it's a lot more efficient and way faster. We love the quick links you can go to at the bottom of the page. You run a driver's license, click on one link and the system uses the DL information to run a criminal history, really fast. You can use it on any desktop, which is a huge plus - fewer interruptions of dispatch to run histories, driving records and such. I'm saving at least two hours of time each week by being able to run criminal histories myself, instead of interrupting dispatch with a request, or waiting around until they're available."
