Thinkstream Patrol is a wireless tool that provides officers, via laptop or PDA, quick access to vital information about people and vehicles - including warrants, violent criminal history, stolen vehicle reports, DMV photos and NCIC mug shots.

This police officer could.
A traffic stop was made by an officer and, using Thinkstream Patrol, he ran the license plate of the vehicle. The license plate information returned and advised the officer that the registered owner was listed as a missing person on the NCIC database.
After questioning the driver it was discovered that the missing person was living in a house nearby. Occupants of the residence had been investigated prior to this for drug trafficking. The investigation led to the arrest of an individual in charge of a large illegal drug-dealing operation in the area and the removal of the missing person from the NCIC database.
